Dreamchaser Lace Duster

I just bought myself the perfect black lace duster! It's from Hellaholics - a Scandinavian brand and online store, based in Gothenburg, Sweden. They find their inspiration in vintage treasures, starry nights, music, and generally fabulous chicks from all walks of life. They aim to create a collection of garments and jewelry that embodies fearlessness and fun, things that gives you that instant attitude, yet are easy to wear. And here is my new duster!

It's made of sheer black lace with embroidered details, and has cap sleeves. Although I'm just wearing lingerie underneath it here to show it off better, this is one of those pieces of clothing you can wear in so many ways! Throw it over any outfit to make it a bit more interesting. Use a belt and wear it as a dress. Or just over your lingerie while at home...or going grocery shopping. Haha!

New Outfit (And How To Eat Cookies Like A Lady)...

Every girl needs a good ninja outfit. This us mine! It's slim and really easy to move in, which makes it perfect for kicking ass! Haha!

Since I got both pieces in black, it looks like a pantsuit, but it's actually capri pants and a top - both from Pinup Girl Clothing's line Deadly Dames. They both exist in several different colors, so you can really mix and match with these two pieces.

After an enjoyable visit at my chiropractor for some bone cracking and acupuncture I headed over to Lenore Caine's place. As both me and Lenore work as alternative models, we've become really good at posing in front of the camera - as can be seen above. I think any cookie company would be proud to have us as their brand ambassadors! Then we played Wii and cuddled with the cat.

This is Myysan. As she's super cuddly and kept moving around, being cute, it wasn't easy to get a good picture of her paws. What I wanted to show you is that she has thumbs! This probably facilitates handling an iPhone, which she obviously does since she has her own Instagram account - @theofficialmyysan. It was a good day...

New Dress, Dinosaurs And Dead Animals...

It's starting to feel like summer in Sweden! Yay! So finally it's possible to wear summer dresses again! At the last Burleskloppis (Burlesque Flea Market) I bought a lovely vintage 50s dress from Miss Rita Regrets. Here it is!

It's made in light-weight cotton decorated with yellow roses and champagne-colored ribbons. The fabric is very gathered over the bust-area, which is a great thing if you wish to make your boobs look bigger. Haha!

So, what do you do on a hot, sunny summer day? You go sit down in a dark movie theater of course! Hehe... Me and a friend went to see Jurassic World, and I really liked it! Even though the story is pretty much the same as in the other Jurassic movies - park with dinosaurs, big scary dino escapes, lots of blood, end fight - I still like these movies.

After that we went to the 1-year anniversary party of Kalabalika Taxidermi at Porky Royale Tattoo. Amelie, who is the owner of Kalabalika has SO many extraordinary things for sale! Like these old prosthetic legs for example. But of course also a lot of taxidermy, skulls, skeletons, and jewelry she has made of bugs and other animal parts.

Right now she also has this beautiful white peacock for sale. WANT!!! The price for it is 20.000 SEK though, so I think maybe not - but maybe one day...

Plaid Dress

Ok, I'm back from my one week off blogging! And I'm back with an outfit post. This is a dress I got for Christmas, and it's finally spring-like enough in this cold country to bring it out of my closet!

The dress is vintage, from the 40s, and made from a very light plaid cotton fabric. It has a nice "collar" application at the front, and big pockets. I found the dress at Dalena Vintage on Etsy, and I love it. Very soft and comfortable to wear.

I'm also wearing my Thomas Sabo charm bracelet. So far I have a skull, a gothic cross, and a guitar hanging from it, but there are so many charms to choose from, so I will be adding to it. Perfect things to wish for around birthdays and such!

Easter Dress

On Good Friday I had been invited to Fräulein Frauke's and her husband John-Paul Bichard's yearly Easter party. Every guest brings something for the buffet, and a bottle of bubbly, and then we just share everything. I made loads of dark chocolate mousse! Everyone always dress up for this decadent party, so I though it was a good idea to premiere a dress I got for my birthday last August, but still haven't had an opportunity to wear  - a vintage gown from the 40s!

The floor length dress has a plaid pattern of shiny brown, purple, copper, gold and white blending together. The skirt looks pretty narrow from the front, but there's actually quite a lot of fabric in it...

...that is gathered in the back to create a small train. At the waistline sits a sort of belt that closes in a big bow at the back.

The edge around both the neckline and the bottom of the belt is scalloped. I love this dress because it seems so different from other 40s gowns. The design of the dress is very elegant, like a ball gown. But then whoever made it used this "simple" plaid fabric that probably would have fitted a day dress. So it feels like I can wear it to both fancy parties, and just for afternoon tea.

New Dress

I got two dresses from Santa this year - one new, and one vintage. This is the new one!

It's from H&M and made of powder-pink, slightly shiny lace over an under-dress in the same color. I think it's perfectly fine to wear light or pastel colors even in the winter. It's all about the design of the dress. With the high neckline and long sleeves this one has it's perfect for colder weather!

Another thing that was hiding under the Christmas tree with my name on it is this little vintage purse. Even though it's small, it still has good room inside for necessary things, such as powder, red lipstick, iPhone and a small vibrator. You know, things you can't leave the house without... Haha!

Outfit Post

I love seeing what other people wear on their blogs, but I'm really bad at doing outfit posts myself. Sorry... But here is one! I rarely wear pants, but with the cold season now starting to get a grip on us, I thought I needed some pants!

I found the perfect pair made by Swedish retro designer Emmy. They're called The 40s Work Pants and are made of black bengaline. They're really comfortable with a high waist, flared legs, and has pleats in the front.

The top is vintage 40s, and that one I found at the latest Bureskloppis (Burlesque Flea Market). I've been looking for one of these small knitted 40s tops for a long time, but they're always too big for me. So I was really glad when I found this one! It's brown, with icy blue snow flakes. As you can see it also makes it look like I have boobs. Yay! Haha! Sometimes I'm a bit worried when it comes to putting black and brown pieces together. But I think this works quite well.

New Vintage Dress And Jacket

In October last year I bought a new vintage dress suit. Thought it might be time to show it off now - half a year later... Hehe... But I actually haven't been able to wear it until recently, when the weather has finally been warm enough for it. But here it is!  It's from the 40s, and I got it at Dalena Vintage's lovely Etsy shop!

The dress and the jacket are made of the same fabric - a soft, light cotton. The top of the dress is folded over to the outside to create a bit of draping. The skirt is a bit gathered in the back.

And here is the matching jacket! It has a fitted waist, a peplum, and a little pleated bustle in the back. The sleeves have cuffs, and although I have them down in these pictures, I later folded them up. I like both looks though. For some reason the color of the two top pictures changed when I put them on my blog. The bottom photo shows off the real color of the fabric though. Damn you Blogger!!!

Two More Christmas Presents

I know I'm really bad at doing outfit posts. But here comes one, showing off two more things I got for Christmas  - a skirt suit, and a pair of shoes!

The New Look-inspired skirt suit is vintage, from the late 40s, in a black and brown fabric woven i tiny stripes. It has a bit of a sheen to it which made it look a bit stained in the photos - which it's not in reality. The jacket has a fitted bodice with a peplum, and brown velvet cuffs and neckline. There is a label inside that shows it was made by Jonathan Logan - a brand which, by 1966, was one of the biggest ready-to-wear companies in the USA. It was bought from DearGolden on Etsy.

And here are the shoes! Unfortunately, my old, black and very comfortable - but still good looking - favorite shoes died in November last year, when I was in Rome performing. That was a sad day... But I knew the time would come for us to part sooner or later. They had faithfully been walked and danced around in for many years... And then I found these perfect replacements, which I was happy to find under the Christmas tree! They are from ModCloth, and the brand is Chelsea Crew. I love a T-strap on shoes, that make them sit tight to my slender feet. Let's hope they will be with me for many years to come!

Half Naked In My Boudoir...

Ok. The headline might sound a bit more intriguing than what you think you will see in today's post. Haha! What I wanted to show you was one of my Christmas presents - a new skirt!

For once, the skirt is not vintage. It's newly made, and comes from H&M. The material is pretty thick - which is perfect for the cold winter months - and has a dotted pattern. There are hidden pockets in the sides...

...and it's very wide! Me like! The reason my hair is rolled up under a scarf is because I was on my way to yet another shoot with one of my favorite photographers - FG Photography. Pics from that will come later... As you can see I'm not alone in these pictures. I'm cat-sitting Puma for a week, and as usual she had to photobomb. Last time I took care of this cat and tried to do an outfit post the result was similar. That post can be found here!

Funeral Outfit

And so it was time for funeral number two, for grandma number two, this summer/fall. And this time I chose to go with the traditional black!

The dress I wore is from the 40s, in a pretty heavy, slinky fabric. I bought it from Fanny.

It's a bit difficult to see in the photo, but the back has sort of a little bustle, and at the top there is a small opening that closes with a hook and eye.

On the inside of the sleeves there are zippers, which makes them sit perfectly around my skinny arms. I love this dress! It's one of those pieces that you can pretty much wear at any occasion, and the fact that I wore it to a funeral, won't stop me from wearing it to a party in the future!

A New Skirt, And Puma Photobombing

As I wrote about a month ago, I just started working at the new Scandinavian branch of a company called Elevate. Last Thursday though, my lovely boss here in Sweden came into the office and told us she had gotten a sad mail from the highest boss in England. Since he had done no research about the Swedish market before starting up the office over here, and obviously don't understand that doing business in Sweden during the summer months is very difficult, since we all take out around four weeks of vacation this time of year, and so leave the offices pretty empty, he decided to chicken out and file for bankruptcy. Had he waited until fall, I think things would have gone much better, but since he seems to be a coward (I worked there a month, and he didn't even send me a mail welcoming me, or asking how I felt about working there...) he decided to get rid of the office in Sweden, and so leave us without jobs and incomes without even telling us about his plans at least a week ahead, so we could start looking for other jobs. That is what I call an inconsiderate asshole! At least I'm considerate enough not to mention him by his name here on my little blog...

But anyway, screw that, and lets turn our attention to a skirt and a cat instead!

One day when I came home from work, Fanny had cleaned out her closet - again - and created a whole pile of lovely things she was going to sell on ebay. I went through this pile, and ended up buying two skirts, a black 40s dress, and a floor-length black velvet antique cape with a hood! I like home shopping! The butterfly-skirt in the pictures above was one of the things that moved from Fanny's closet, to my closet - in the same apartment... The frilly top I can't remember where I got, but I've had it for ages! As you can see, Puma decided to photobomb every photo I tried to take of this outfit. So since she likes to be the focus of attention so much, here are two more pictures of the Cuddle Monster:

New Job

Last week I started my new, full time, job, as Sales & Marketing Coordinator at Elevate Scandinavia. The weather was warm and sunny, so I wore a 60s dress I have inherited from my mom, a pair of cat eye shades...

...and one of my favorite pair of red shoes, from Deichman!

I packed my retro lunch box, and walked away to the subway. There I noticed my train had been cancelled, had to wait for the next one, and so ended up being late on my first day. Yay... But it worked out well anyway.

The office lies in a business park, among loads of other companies. I quickly learnt my duties as a Sales and Marketing Coordinator, and got to work! The only problem right now is the pain in my leg has been pretty horrible the last few weeks, so everything feels a bit heavy right now. Plus I just got the news my other grandma (paternal) is dying too, so so far this summer has been extremely crappy. Hoping for the best though, so we'll see how things turn out in the end!

Picnic In The Park

Some days ago me and my sister decided to have a picnic in a park called Rolambshovsparken. It's a beautiful and very popular hangout during warm summer days.

I wore a 50s style dress designed by Bernie Dexter that I bought as a Valentine's gift to myself in February, but haven't worn yet. It's called the Amour and More Dress in Plaid, and I found it at Mod Cloth.

Rolambshovsparken is full of green grass and trees, and has a lovely view out over the water. The weather was perfect, and after buying salads, chocolates, and a box of rosé wine we sat down on my newly acquired picnic blanket - me in the shade, and my sister in the sun.

When my sister had to leave two Italians and one Frenchman arrived instead. They demanded ice cream, so ice cream we got!

When we started to get hungry we went home to Ciara's - the Italian girl's - apartment, where she has a whole room dedicated to her shoes!

Then we had dinner on the terrace on top of the apartment building, where we had an amazing view over Stockholm in all four directions. A perfect day with a perfect ending!
