Fabergé Friday

Last Friday I showed you one of Fabergé's brooches, and here is another one! It was made by workmaster Alfred Thielemann, around 1910.

The brooch is made in Art Deco style, of silver-topped gold.

It is set with a big faceted aquamarine, one brilliant, and many rose-cut diamonds. The length of the brooch is 6.2 cm, and it has been sold at Romanov Russia.

Today's Fabergé object - a brooch. Made by workmaster Anna Ringe, sometime between 1908 and 1917!

The brooch is lozenge-shaped, and covered in lavender purple enamel over a guilloché ground. The edges are gold, and in the center of it all sits a bezel-set diamond. The width of the brooch is 1.9'' (4.9 cm), and the prize for it is 4,900 USD. You find it at Romanov Russia!

Fabergé Friday

There are still many Fabergé egg pendants out there. So here comes another one! This one is very colorful, and was made around the year 1890!

The egg is covered in different colored enamel over a guilloché ground. The color fields are separated by gold lines.

In the center of each color field sits either a rose-cut diamond, a sapphire, a ruby, or an emerald - all framed in gold.

The height of the egg - without the suspension ring - is 0.7'' (1.7 cm). I found it on Romanov Russia's website, and this one has already been sold to some lucky person...

Fabergé Friday

After last Friday's anomaly, Fabergé Friday is now back! This time with something that is extremely rare to find - a Fabergé ring! This one was made around the year 1900!

The ring - which was made for a man - is simple, yet elegant, in it's design, with a reeded pattern in 14K gold.

In the center sits a 1.89 ct old European cut diamond. 

The US size of the ring is 7 3/4 (18 mm), and it's price is 26,000 USD. You find it at Romanov Russia!

For this Fabergé Friday I have a very pretty pendant for you, made in the Neo-Russian stye by assay master Ivan Lebedkin, sometime between the years 1899 and 1908!

The pendant consists of a triangular gold plaque, which resembles a kokoshnik - a traditional Russian headdress worn by girls and women. On the plaque is an openwork stork, decorated with rose-cut diamonds and a ruby eye. In it's mouth it carries a diamond, which might symbolize childbirth. The lower border is set with four appliques engraved with diagonal lines, and covered in translucent blue and golden enamel.

Underneath the triangle hangs two side drops, that imitate Old-Slavonic kolts (pendants attached to a female headdress), decorated with diamonds and aquamarine blue enamel with golden shades. Between these hangs a flexible bigger drop with bezel-set diamonds. The height of the pendant is  2.8'' (7 cm), and it is for sale at Romanov Russia for 35,000 USD.

For this Friday I have another lovely Fabergé brooch tho show you! This one was made by workmaster Andrei Gorianov, sometime between 1908 - 1917!

This Garland Style brooch is made of gold, and topped with silver. In the middle sits a pink tourmaline, surrounded by diamonds. 

The width of the piece is 2'' (5,2 cm), and the price for it is 6,500 USD. It's for sale at Romanov Russia!

I don't think I have shown you any of Fabergé's bracelets yet. But here is one, made by workmaster August Holmström, sometime between the years 1882 and 1898!

This matte finish gold bracelet is made with Greek-style delicately applied wirework with granulation. The central pearl is surrounded by nine antique cushion cut diamonds.

The inner diameter of the bracelet is 2 1/2'' (6,4 cm), and the price for it is 18,500 USD. Get it at Romanov Russia!

I feel it's time for a brooch - by Fabergé of course! This one was made by workmaster Henrik Wigström, sometime between 1908-1917!

The brooch - 1 1/2 inches (3,7 centimeters) in diameter - is made of a plaque of moss agate, that looks like a picture of a misty forest. 

The reeded gold frame is tied with silver ribbons, set with rose-cut diamonds. This brooch is right now for sale at Romanov Russia, for the slight sum of 25,000 USD!

Today we celebrate Midsummer's Eve in Sweden, so Happy Midsummer everyone!!! And I just discovered I have gotten my first mosquito bite for this year. So I think I have to go scratch that now...

Today we'll take a look at something more feminine than last Friday - a Fabergé Eternity Brooch, made sometime between 1899 and 1908!

The brooch is designed as an open work plaque, with a collet-set aquamarine set in the middle. The frame around it is made as two interlaced loops, set with rose-cut diamonds. Inside the four loops surrounding the center are four arrows - each set with an old brilliant-cut diamond - representing eternity.

The brooch is 1 1/8 inches (3 cm) wide, and can be bought at Romanov Russia for 65,000 USD.

This Friday we will look at a piece of man-jewelry - a Russian Imperial Award Ring given by Empress Maria Feodorovna to an unknown man, in 1915!

The ring is made of gold, with a matte finish, gray guilloché enamel, and diamonds. It is designed in the Russian modern style of the 1910s, with a medieval version of the Byzantine double-headed eagle.

After the Byzantine empire had fallen, in the 15th century, Russia adopted the double-headed eagle as its state emblem. The design of this emblem was changed several times over the following centuries, but in the 1910s the medieval version was brought back in the decorative arts. 

The ring comes with a copy of its original award certificate, signed by the head of the Cabinet Chamberlain of His Majesty's Court, and stamped with the ink seal of the Cabinet of Empress Maria Feodorovna.
