Fräulein Frauke Presents - The Great Masquerade 2013

Last New Years Eve I welcomed 2013 at the most lavish, beautiful, decadent New Years masquerade ball I had ever been to! The producers of the event was Fräulein Frauke and John Paul Bichard, and as the party was such a success, they decided to do it again for this New Years Eve!

The theme of this year's masked ball was the 20s and The Great Gatsby. So I set my hair with fitting finger waves and did smokey eyes - which I later covered up with a mask after a very cozy pre-party dinner with Fanny, Michael, Elegy Ellem, and Fredrik.

Here we all are, at Elegy Ellem's and Fredrik's lovely apartment. As you can see, we were extremely excited to go to Nalen and party the night away!

Nalen was decorated for Christmas, but those ornaments faded in the light of all the amazingly dressed guests! 800 people decked out in their finest - most of them keeping to the theme of the night. When you looked around it felt like we were actually welcoming the year 1924, instead of 2014! Haha!

Before we arrived, a three course dinner had taken place in Nalen's biggest ball room. We decided to skip that part this year though, and have a more intimate dinner party.

Here are the two fabulous producers of the event - Fräulein Frauke and John Paul Bichard! Miss Frauke is wearing a dress made by Fanny by the way, for her project Stage Fright! And then we have the performers of the night:

The evening's conférencière was the gorgeous Reuben R Kaye! Although I don't think he would be so interested in me - since I happen to be a girl - I still did my best hitting on him, by slamming a door straight in his face as he came running by full speed! His first reaction was that he was going to sue me, but then he said I looked lovely and gave me a kiss. So now I'm slightly confused about the outcome of this... Well, well...

And, not to forget, the two vey important, and very sweet stage kittens - Gabriella and Angelica!

Then, in the middle of it all, this gangster goes up on stage, invites his lovely lady to follow him, gets down on one knee, and proposes to her... As I'm a silly romantic, this gave me goose bumps! And of course he got a "yes"!

Men and Fanny also had a very romantic moment though, as you can see in the picture above! Tired but happy - and not completely sober - we then returned home to our beds, hoping Miss Frauke and Mr Bichard will make these burlesque New Year masquerades a tradition! What am I going to wear next year?!!! AAAAAAHHHH!!!!

New Year's Masquerade Ball

Remember those fairytale-like dream-parties you've imagined going to ever since you were very young. When you could dress up in really fancy clothes, deck yourselves with jewels, and dance all night long...Well, on New Years Eve my childhood dream came true, when I finally was able to go to one of these fairytale-parties...

If you follow this blog, you have read about the amazing burlesque events called Fräulein Frauke Presents several times before! This Masquerade Ball was the first time Fräulein Frauke and her coproducer John Paul Bichard opened the doors to Nalen on a New Years Eve though - and it was also the most extravagant party they have ever created! The tickets sold out completely, and had anyone showed up in jeans and a T-shirt, that person had been thrown to the lions!

My mask - which I had bought at a lovely shop in Stockholm called Devil's Delight - was ready to be tied on...

...and so were my panniers!

I had sewn an 18th century dress for a party a few years ago, so it was fun to be able to use that "old rag" again. There is so much steel in the corset and the panniers I'm practically bullet proof in that thing!

With a black ostrich plume in my hair, a fan in my hand, and a black heart Fanny painted on my chest I was ready for the night!

My dates for the evening were Fanny and Albin - meow!

Outside Nalen we were met by a fire-eater!

Then we were led into the magnificent ball room, where the tables were decorated in white and silver. The three-course dinner was delicious, and the men an women serving the food and wine did their job so well they might as well have served kings and queens! And of course we were also royally entertained...

Conférencière of the night was Dusty Limits. Even though it would probably be very difficult to impress him - since I'm a girl - and even though he has forever ruined the wonderful song The Music Of The Night from The Phantom Of The Opera for me, I still have a huge crush on him! And even though I would feel very sorry for the hamster I would still *beep*...the hamster...*beep*...*beep* if he wanted me to...Don't ask about that part...

The night was so lovely I still wonder if it was just a dream...And for those of you who missed it this New Years Eve...well...I have heard Fräulein Frauke might invite us next year too...

Happy New Year!!!

Another year has past. The best one for me in a looooooong time...I've finally been able to get back to life after my pain-years, and a lot of things has happened the last few months! I have:

• gotten a modeling contract with Nocturnal Agency.
• stepped up on a stage again - after almost eight years absence - because I decided to try burlesque.
• ruined myself on Swarovski crystals, since I fell in love with this old-time way to strip and have to create many more numbers.
• been an AP-girl for one evening, when I worked as a hostess at Agent Provocateur during Fashion Night Out.
• worn jewelry worth 4 million SEK (154,000 USD), when working for the auction house Bukowskis.
• met many new, crazy, weird, and absolutely wonderful friends.
• gone to some of the most amazing parties.
• realized that foot-fetish people really like my feet.
• managed to keep this blog going for yet another year...

...and hoping to have the time to keep it going for a long time to come! But of course I wouldn't spend all this time blogging if no one wanted to read it. So THANK YOU to all my lovely followers - AND occasional readers!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and that whatever you choose to do on New Years Eve will be as fabulous as the burlesque masquerade ball I will be attending on this evening! Fräulein Frauke and her husband John Paul Bichard are as usual the talented couple behind the party, and as I know how amazing their events always are, this New Years feast will probably end up in the history books!
