Vintage Halloween Costumes

It's Halloween time!!!! And I'm going to miss out on all the fun creepy parties, because I'm going to Rome to perform in Caput Mundi Burlesque Awards. But I think I'll survive... For the rest of you who will spend the weekend celebrating the darkness, here comes a few costume tips - from the good old days!

Bibendums, Montmartre, 1922.

Germany, 1920.

New York City, 1951.

Since I'm flying to Rome today, you will gave to wait for my next post until Tuesday next week. The people I live with are going to have a Halloween party at our apartment, so I'm a bit bummed out about the fact I'm going to miss that one, and get to dress up in something creepy... What costume plans do YOU have for the scariest of holidays?

What I DON'T Want Right Now

As promised in my last post, here comes the second part of the horrible stuff I found while going through the Resort 2014 collections. For the first part, look here!

House of Holland

Notice the scared expression on the model's face...

Not sure what to say about this one. Guess it simply made me speechless.

J. Mendel

Could have ended up well, but for some reason it just looks cheap and trashy.

J.W. Anderson

And this is what happens when you're not prepared for zombie attacks on your way to work. Always be prepared! Next time they might be coming for you...

If you want to accentuate your boobs, this is a good example of how you shouldn't do it!

Nope again...

Ter et Bantine

I've said it before, and I say it again - women do not want their legs to look short!!!

Fabergé Friday

It's Fabergé Friday, and today I give you a pendant locket! It was made by Andre Adler, sometime between 1908 and 1917!

The locket is made of gilded silver and gold, and covered in pale blue enamel over a guilloché ground, forming wavy lines in a sunburst pattern.

In the middle of the lid sits an Old European cut diamond.

The inside of the locket is fitted with two rose gold miniature picture frames.

The diameter of the pendant is 1.1'' (2,7 cm), and it's for sale at Romanov Russia for the slight sum of 6,500 USD!

What I DON'T Want Right Now

As I've said before, it's a bit frightening to see what horrible creations some of the big designers can come up with sometimes. But as taste differs, I'm sure someone will like them... or not... Here comes a few of the things I really didn't like from the Resort 2014 collections though!

Gold lamé can be nice, but not in a whole pantsuit. Too much...

Anne Valérie

Hello 80s tracksuit that has been washed too many times!

Cédric Charlier

Christian Dior

I used to love Dior. Their clothes were so elegant and stylish once upon a time. This though, is not stylish!

Christian Dior

And neither is this...

Costume National

Usually women want clothes that make their legs look long. Hm...

Most women also want clothes that flatters their bodies. The only way this outfit would look good was on a pregnant lady.

Gabriele Colangelo

This is a great camouflage if you want to go out in the forest and hide i white moss! For some reason...

The weirdest thing in this picture is the fact that the model looks like a colorful zombie.

Again, too much of the same sleazy fabric.
