Back to Bukowskis!

As the ones of you who has followed this blog for a while might know, I worked as a stylist for Bukowskis - one of Sweden's two biggest auction firms - for a few weeks earlier this year. Last week they wanted me back to assist during a two-day photo shoot for the catalogue that will come out before their upcoming Classic auction.

The location we shot at was a completely amazing house that looked a bit like a big doll's house on the inside!

Here are some of the things that will be sold at the auction, and that we used in the shoot.

One of the three models we used - Carolina - getting her makeup done by Marthe!

Too keep everyone happy and awake during the looooooong days, we stashed up with chocolates, cookies, nuts, fruit and lots of coffee!!!

Caroline "modeling" the painting in the back...

...a couch - that I want!!!...

...and some silverware. As you can see, she is lying down in all these pictures. She also got to take a long, hot bubble bath for one of the pictures. It was two horrible days for her! Couldn't snap a photo of the bath-picture, since I was busy blowing soap bubbles over her!

I also decided to try on some stuff. Like this little 1,6 million SEK (222,130 USD) tiara, previously worn by princesses...

...Close up...

...and this - also quite tiny - 17.62 ct cushion cut 2,5 million SEK (359,500 USD) diamond ring.

Here is Carolina enjoying the same jewelry in the kitchen! If you want to read more about these goodies, and see better pictures of them, you can find the tiara here and the ring here!

The "This is a Wrap" - picture! Marthe, stylist Linda, photographer Patrik, and the three models watching the finished pictures.

After two tiring days we were all tired, but still happy that the photo turned out so good! I decided to lounge a bit, before we packed up and left this cool house...

The whole catalogue for the Classic Sale, with lots of stuff and jewelry can be found here!

Outfit Post

I just realized I haven't done an outfit post in ages! But as I love seeing what other people wear (especially when it's vintage), I'm going to show you one of my latest finds!

This dress is from the 30s. I found it at Old Touch and it just needed a little restoration to become wearable again. The outer fabric is transparent, as you can see on the "winged" sleeves, and it has a sewn-in underdress. Both the outer and inner layers closes with snap fasteners and hooks and eyes in the left side.

It gathers nicely underneath the bust...

...and the colors goes very well with my green Miss L Fire shoes!

There was no belt with the dress when I bought it. But I don't even think one was ever made for it. I decided to make one though, to make it fit well in my waist. Since I'm short (5'4, 162 cm), and my waist curves in pretty much, I just look even shorter if the dress just hangs straight down without following my shape. The belt makes me look at least 5'5!

Fräulein Frauke Presents - Cuba Libre!

Last Saturday I glued on my fake lashes to go to one of Fräulein Frauke's popular burlesque parties at Nalen! The theme this time was Cuba Libre!

Before the event me and Johanna went to Tifa to pre-party with sangria!

I had sewn my outfit myself. For the skirt I used a simple pattern from the 50s. The top I made like a long shawl I just put around my neck, over my boobs, and tied in the back, leaving my belly naked. The flamingo wanted to be my date for the evening, but he got so drunk during the pre-party he had to stay at home...More pictures from this sangria feast can be seen on Tifa's blog!

Madame Magduschka - or for the night Madame Magda Castro - was the evening's conferenciere.

The burlesque artists performing were all amazing!

Ivoncita and the Matadores de Amor!

There were other performers too, and some performed twice. Here is Fräulein Frauke and Ivoncita again!

The evenings stage kitten - Gabriella - selling chocolate cigarettes and Cuban cigars!

As usual the guests looked smashing!

Me and Fanny! That's true love there...

Karin, who were one of the two winners for best outfit with her self made voodoo hat!

Tifa and Lola van Dyke!

Me and a broken cigar!

Fräulein Frauke and her husband John Paul Bichard! The two people we can thank for creating these lovely events!

Elegy Ellem, Albin and Fräulein Frauke!

I had more fun at the party than I have had in along time! After watching the amazing show the dancing began! Me and Ellem probably performed one of the most pornographic dances on the dance floor, Fanny managed to shower me in a whole glass of white wine (it's at times like that I'm glad she only drinks white wine...), I made burlesque plans with an Italian, realized the ceiling at Nalen is really pretty by lying down on the floor with Michael, and finally made smoke puffs with Ellem on the way home. Not that I really smoke. But sometimes it happens. Fell into bed, tired and happy, around 4 am, just to get up the next day to witness a fencing competition!

All photos marked "Bichard" were taken by John Paul Bichard!

When it comes to create opulent pieces of jewelry, The House of Boucheron is one of the best in the world! From it's founding, in 1858, by Frédéric Boucheron, this house has spread all over the world, while decorating queens, tsars and maharajas on the way. Except for jewelry, Boucheron also creates watches and perfumes, but it's the jewelry I'll be showing you pictures of today!

Even though I love looking at all these lavish pieces, marveling at how something like this can be created, I have to admit I prefer the jewelry with only (or almost only) clear diamonds the most. Not that I would say no to any of the colorful ones. But still...I did however fall completely in love with the necklace in the two bottom pictures! It's called "Le Double Jeu", and as you can see the buds of the flowers can be opened and closed. It was inspired by a flower called "The Queen of the Night". This flower only opens up at night, and closes it's petals again at dawn. As I prefer the night before the day I would love to be able to wear this!
