Fabergé Friday

I know I've posted one or two of Fabergé's frames before, and here comes another one, made by workmaster Henrik Wigström, around 1903-1908!

This diamond shaped gold frame is covered in translucent red enamel over a guilloché ground. The circular opening in the middle is edged with pearls, and the whole frame is bordered by a leaf chased, two colored gold border with rosettes at the corners. The front is decorated by four diamond set fleur-de-lis. The back of the frame is made of ivory, and it rests on a gold scroll strut. It's measurements are 3'' x 3'' (7.6 x 7.6 cm), and the price for it is 95,000 USD! Perfect for framing a photo of your favorite pet! Haha! Get it at John Atzbach Antiques.

  1. The frames are so lovely. It's amazing all the pieces they make. Most think it's just eggs and such, but when you go through all the items they created, it's quite a lot. Hmmm...with this price, I think it's another to add to our cat burglary list ;D Have a wonderful Friday & weekend doll <3 <3 xxxx
