Swan Lake Hat

A friend of mine just decided to sell some clothes and accessories, and was kind enough to ask me if I wanted to buy a certain hat from her, before she sold it to someone else. When I saw it, I definitely felt this one needed to be added to my hat collection! And here is why...

Gorgeous, isn't is?... It's a half hat from the 1940s or 50s, covered in the softest white feathers, that has light-pink nuances in it.

As the label on the inside says, it originally comes from Modes Bettina in Vienna. I googled the name, but unfortunately I didn't find any info about it's origins.

It fits my small-sized head perfectly, and I feel I could definitely dance Swan Lake in it. Haha! Love my new hat...

No Pain, No Gain...

I found some very interesting images of very interesting beauty treatments during the 1940s. Today, these methods look both horrifying, funny and ridiculous. Had people from the 40s traveled forward in time though, and seen what sort of beauty treatments exists today, their comments would probably be that they look both horrifying, funny and ridiculous... Haha! And I wonder what we will be putting ourselves through in the name of beauty in the future...

Anyway. Here are the pictures I found. Don't try this at home children...

Max Factor's ice mask! A mask with plastic cubes was filled with water that got frozen. Then you put it on your face to decrease swolleness. It was popular among the 40s movie stars, and was invented to be used after a rough night out on town.

On the other hand there was also Helena Rubinstein's heat mask! This was meant to increase circulation in the skin, and give you a rosy fresh look. I'm sure you could also use it as a tea cosy...

Electric hot rollers! Seems very safe, and was probably not damaging to the hair at all... Hm...

Freckles were to be avoided at any cost! Even if that meant going to the beach looking like a ghost. Obviously...

Another very flattering mask from Helena Rubinstein! This was put on to tighten the skin. Could also be a good look for Halloween...

This actually looks really nice! Just sitting there doing some knitting while getting a good leg massage. It was used to get a slimming effect, since it was thought these metal rolls stimulated muscle growth.

Another useful metal contraption! This was created by Max Factor to simplify getting you makeup applied in the right spots. Uhm... Well...

And finally - the vacuum pumps! These were to be moved over the skin to reduce acne.

Summer Shoot

During the summer it's usually at least a little bit warmer than during the winter here in Sweden. So this time of the year it feels completely ok to do photo shoots with less clothes on than three layers of fur coats. One sunny day I got together with photographer Peter Nilsson to do a shoot, and here is the result!

Dottie's Delights

Nowadays there are many retro lingerie brands out there. One of them I really love the look of is Dottie's Delights. They have several different collections in different styles, but always with an old fashioned, glamorous look to each piece. So whether you like black, sassy lace, or sweet pastels, you will most probably find something that fits your personal taste here. I have to admit I don't own anything from Dottie's Delights myself though (yet)... So I can't really tell you anything about the comfort and quality of the pieces. Lets just hope they feel as good as they look! Here are a few things they have to offer! To see more, visit Dottie's Delight's website here!

The Hatparade!

For the second year in a row hatmaker and sex-inspirer Marika Smith invited everyone in the possession of a hat to join the Hatparade!

We've had a really cold and grey summer this year in Sweden. But on this day - which also happened to be my birthday - the sun was shining, and it was warm and nice!

We all gathered outside the beautiful Hallwyl Museum. It was great to see people of all ages and styles had come to join in the parade.

Then we all paraded towards Djurgården (The Royal Game Park), where we sat down in the grass for a picninc.

It was a lovely day, and the perfect way to celebrate my birthday. Already looking forward to next year's Hatparade!

New Website

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you might already know this. But for you others I just wanted to say I have finally taken the time to create my own website! One place where I have my modeling portfolio (uncensored), burlesque pics and videos, a bit about myself and how to get in contact. Many people has asked me where they can see my photos and videos, and if I have an official website, and well, now I do! I used Wix to create it, and it was really easy and fun to put it all together!

Enoch Bolles

American pinup painter Enoch Bolles (3 March 1883 - 16 March 1976) was one of the earliest and most widely circulated glamour illustrators. But he also worked a lot in the advertising industry, creating hundreds of illustrations for different products, including Sun-Maid Raisins and Zippo lighters. Ha studied at the National Academy of Design and was first published in 1914, on the covers of joke books. He then went on to paint covers for different spicy pulp magazines. Today he is mostly known as a pinup artist though, so here are a few of his colorful, salacious women!

Van Asch is a family run business founded by Rachel Van Asch, now located in Stockholm, Sweden. Here you find handmade decorations for both your home and yourself, inspired by the Orient, Parisian Fin de Siècle, Victorian, Edwardian, burlesque and Baroque, with hints of Medieval and fantasy. It's a very opulent and decadent alternative to the simple functionality we're used to here in Scandinavia. Here are a few of the items you find in their web shop.
