Stage Fright

My best friend - and landlady - Fanny started a project she calls Stage Fright a few months ago. As she loves the sparkling world of burlesque, but actually have stage fright, she decided to put part of herself on stage by sewing costumes for other burlesque dancers instead. And so her project began... Fanny has a degree in Fashion Design and is very talented at coming up with ideas for incredible costumes! As we both know many burlesque dancers, she quickly got a full sewing-schedule, as many of them wanted costumes created by her. These last few months the apartment has looked like burlesque heaven, with sequins, pearls and feathers flying around everywhere! Here are some of her amazing creations, designed, sewn, and meticulously decorated - often by hand - by herself...

Fräulein Frauke Presents - Hooray For Hollywood!

Last Saturday it was time for me to get up on stage and throw my clothes off again! And this time I was actually a bit nervous! Most of you probably know about Fräulein Frauke's amazing burlesque events by now, since I blog about them every time they take place. The difference this time though, was that I wasn't going there "just" as a guest, but I had been invited to perform too! The theme of the party this time was Hooray For Hollywood, and Fräulein Frauke wanted me to do my Diamonds Are Forever act.

As usual, the party took place at Nalen, and I was the first one on stage, warming up the audience in a smaller room called Harlem, before the doors opened to the main stage. I had to change my act a little to fit it to the small stage, but everything went well, and I felt really good dancing around in pink light, surrounded by an amazing audience and the beautiful atmosphere of Nalen, which is decorated in late 19th century style.

Next on stage was Yvette Les Fesses, who took her clothes off while singing a song I love - Put The Blame On Mame form the 1946 film Gilda.

On the big stage Elegy Ellem stepped out in a very...um...cute Jabba the Hut costume. But behold! Out of Jabba then emerged...

After performing I changed into what I call my Ghost Dress from the late 40s, and partied away! My mother and here sister came to se me strip for the first time, and they both liked my performance. At least that's what they said... Hehe...

Fräulein Frauke wore a very pretty dress, that I just wanted to rip off her and take with me home! All the guests looked amazing too! Dressed to the nines to fit the Hollywood theme! As usual I can't wait for Fräulein Frauke's next burlesque event, and am waiting with anticipation to find out what the theme for that party will be!

Even though I always look forward to Fräulein Frauke's extravagant burlesque events, I look forward to the next one a little bit more than usual... The theme this time is old Hollywood glamour, and I happen to be one of thee entertainers on stage this time!

Fräulein Frauke Presents - Cuba Libre!

Last Saturday I glued on my fake lashes to go to one of Fräulein Frauke's popular burlesque parties at Nalen! The theme this time was Cuba Libre!

Before the event me and Johanna went to Tifa to pre-party with sangria!

I had sewn my outfit myself. For the skirt I used a simple pattern from the 50s. The top I made like a long shawl I just put around my neck, over my boobs, and tied in the back, leaving my belly naked. The flamingo wanted to be my date for the evening, but he got so drunk during the pre-party he had to stay at home...More pictures from this sangria feast can be seen on Tifa's blog!

Madame Magduschka - or for the night Madame Magda Castro - was the evening's conferenciere.

I had more fun at the party than I have had in along time! After watching the amazing show the dancing began! Me and Ellem probably performed one of the most pornographic dances on the dance floor, Fanny managed to shower me in a whole glass of white wine (it's at times like that I'm glad she only drinks white wine...), I made burlesque plans with an Italian, realized the ceiling at Nalen is really pretty by lying down on the floor with Michael, and finally made smoke puffs with Ellem on the way home. Not that I really smoke. But sometimes it happens. Fell into bed, tired and happy, around 4 am, just to get up the next day to witness a fencing competition!
