Monday's school outfit

Last week I told you I had found a 30s dress at "Old Touch", and that pictures of it would probably appear on this weeks "Monday's school outfit" post. I always do everything I can to keep my promises, so here it comes! The fabric is transparent with black and white patterns, so underneath I'm wearing a black 40s slip. I thought I would have to take the dress in a bit, but my clever friend Fanny told me to try it with a wider belt than the slim one, in the same fabric as the dress, that came with it. I prefer not to alter old dresses if I don't have too - especially with fragile fabric like this - and with a wider belt it worked really well! This is a dress that's not supposed to sit tight around your body anyways. The belt I used is from H&M.

I almost always wear stockings, but with this dress I wanted opaque black ones, so pantyhose it became! These ones are from "Pierre Robert" - really soft ones! The shoes are the ones I found in NY, from "Chelsea Crew".

I love finding shoes that both look good and are actually comfortable to walk in too! These ones are.

Chocolates anyone?

A lot of people find Mondays the most boring day of the week, so here comes something to cheer you up - chocolates! I happened to come across something a few weeks ago when I was doing my PR-class homework - "United Indecent Pleasures". The name sounded...well...interesting, and this is what I saw when I entered their home page...

Carmen Dell'Orefice

Whit 66 years in the business, Carmen Dell'Orefice can truly be called the longest working model of all time! She was born in 1931 and started her career at US "Vogue" in 1945. Since then she has graced the cover of this magazine six times, landed 14 cosmetics campaigns, and been photographed by Richard Avedon, Irving Penn and Cecil Beaton, to name just a few. What disturbs me about this outfit is the skirt-over-pants part. The skirt-over-pants was tried in the 90s, and should NEVER BE DONE AGAIN!!! Please, if you can't decide whether to wear pants or a skirt, just put on a dress! How difficult can it be?!

I liked a lot in this collection. This jacket is an exception. It looks a bit like those things slalom skiers wears. Or like the fabric was just too stiff to make that certain jacket in. The result resembles how the clothes I made for my Barbie when I was little used to look.
