What disturbs me about this outfit is the skirt-over-pants part. The skirt-over-pants was tried in the 90s, and should NEVER BE DONE AGAIN!!! Please, if you can't decide whether to wear pants or a skirt, just put on a dress! How difficult can it be?!

I liked a lot in this collection. This jacket is an exception. It looks a bit like those things slalom skiers wears. Or like the fabric was just too stiff to make that certain jacket in. The result resembles how the clothes I made for my Barbie when I was little used to look.

MM6 Maison Martin Margiela x Opening Ceremony

If you have an old pair of jeans you never wear anymore, just throw them away. Don't resew them into something like this! 

New boots

Isn't it lovely when a man arrives at your door, with a present in his hands?!...Ok, I might look at this through rose colored glasses slightly. In reality the man was the post man, and the present was a delivery from Miss L Fire, ordered by myself...But I was quite exited anyway! I have been looking for some nice winter boots that looks like they could have been made in the 40s or 50s, for some time now. Then a few weeks ago when I bought the shoes (called "Clara") below - also by Miss L Fire - at a store called Sivletto, I remembered to check out her Internet page again.

Except for point shoes, I have never ordered shoes online before. My feet are a bit weird, and I like to be able to try the shoes on before I buy them. But feeling how comfortable the green shoes I already had from this brand were, I decided to give it a go! And this is what I ordered: 

My new winter buddies - perfect heel hight, and lined with sheepskin! They're called "Lauren", fit perfectly, and feel very comfortable! I wouldn't be afraid to order more shoes from Miss L Fire. If both these pairs fit me so well, there's a big chance the rest of the shoes will too. This might be a bit dangerous though...If I get a bit too drunk one night, I have to stay away from computers so I don't order every pair she has on her web site...Here comes a few of my favorites from the A/W 2011 collection.

Monday's school outfit

Oh the pressure of always having to wear something different to my PR-class on Mondays, so I won't bore my dear readers with already seen outfits! This time I cheated a bit though, and wore a skirt you've already seen - the one Fanny gave me. The top is an old one from Gina Tricot.

I've had a bit of a foot ache the last month, so I have to wear really comfortable shoes for the moment. I guess we all have our "old faithful" when it comes to shoes. The one pair we can always rely on if we know we're going to walk around a lot, and don't want to ruin the day by leaving bloody footprints behind us - even though the achy shoes might be pretty. These are my "old faithful":

I bought them many years ago at shoe store called "Din Sko" ("Your Shoe"), which is a bit like the H&M of shoes in Sweden, that sells shoes at very good prices. The day these shoes die, I'm going to have a proper funeral for them. And then I'm going to wear black for at least half a year...

This Monday I was a bit confused, and managed to jump on the buss to go to class one hour too early. Oooops! So, what is a girl to do, in the middle of Stockholm, when she has a whole hour to spend? She goes shopping of course!!! I went to a vintage store called "Old Touch". They have a lot of things in there! I think you could visit every day and still find something you haven't seen before.

I found a lovely dress from the 30s that got to come home with me. Pictures of that one will come later! Probably on the next "Monday's school outfit" post. I can't reveal everything right away, can I?!!!

In sticking with yesterday's theme - Dita von Teese - I have some news about her dress collection called "Muse". This limited edition of dresses - designed by miss von Teese herself - will be released in Australia on October 29th. Further launches in the US, UK and Europe will then follow.

The collection features five different pieces, including a tulle-layered trench coat. Each dress has couture detailing and grosgrain ribbon that cinches the waist. The collection also showcases traditional features such as in-built corsetry, silk crêpe the Chine lining and silhouettes that are carefully constructed to suit the female form. The colors include "backstage black", "ruby lips", and an original rose print, and the collection will be available in sizes 8 to 20. 

"Offering a collection that caters to women of all sizes is very important to me", says Dita von Teese. "Muse is designed to compliment a multitude of body shapes, so every woman can celebrate her natural beauty and feel sexy in a gorgeous dress.".

I can't wait to see the whole collection! I'm not so sure I want to see the price tags though...Hopefully the prices will be reasonable, so we all can get our hands on at least one of the dresses - with a little saving of course. But that waits to be seen...

Dita's Dresses

Out of my four girl crushes, I have to say Dita von Teese is the biggest - the other three being Ulyana Sergeenko, Angelina Jolie, and my lovely friend Fanny. There are many reasons why I love this amazing lady. She is completely self made. No one picked her out from a crowd of wannabes, gave her a contract, money, and a group of people to mold her into what they wanted her to become. Dita started in strip clubs, creating her own routines, and obviously being so good at it that it - with lots of hard work - made her into the burlesque star she is today!

As a vintage dresser myself she's also very inspiring to look at. My favorite eras are the 40s and 50s, and the women who's pictures I admire today are either very old, or dead now. But miss von Teese is alive and wearing all these fabulous vintage (or new) clothes today, together with that old fashioned styling and makeup I adore in the old movie stars. And the photos you see of her are in color too! Wow! For a lot of her red carpet appearances she even does her own hair and makeup! You can't say that about so many other stars of today! This is also a nice inspiration - if she can do it, so can I, and everyone else who wants to! Practice makes perfect!

Old Hollywood glamour!

Simple, yet oh so pretty! The thing with making these wiggle dresses look good is to make it fit your own body like a glove. And don't forget to wear the right underpinnings!

This is also one of my favorites. Flowy, pastel colored fabric, and just the right amount of transparency! This one I really want to hang in my own closet!

I love necklines like this! Beautiful! Black leather can sometimes look...well...not so good...Then, at other times, it can look like this! *Sigh*...

But with all the amazing outfits we see this this lovely woman wearing, we should not forget that she looks just as amazing without them too!

Funny ads

Today I'll show you some more funny vintage ads. Last time they were all about losing or gaining weight. The ads you'll see today are completely different though. Actually, they're pretty horrible...If anyone of these ads were printed today, lawsuits would flood against them! This is - with the thinking of today - pretty much as politically incorrect as it gets...

Let's start of lightly, with some toys!

Why not give your child a razor to play with, so he really learns how to shave himself before his face starts to get too hairy?!

Or why not a gun! Ok, I know it says in the ad that this is not a toy. But it also says that it's absolutely safe, and that accidental discharge is impossible. So what's the harm if the child wants to play with it?!

The best thing would probably be if everyone in your family had a rifle of their own. How fun wouldn't that be! That way you could all play together. What a jolly good time!
