Corsets And Whisky

Last week I went to the re-opening party of the studio of corset maker Viola Lahger and seamstress O.L.D - Obviously Linda Design, who has moved in together in the same shop. Mrs Murphy also joined us to hold her popular lecture Mrs Murphy to the Rescue.

Here we are! From the left: me, Linda of O.L.D, Mrs Murphy, Karin of Viola Lahger, and Agent Star. As both me and Agent Star work for Mrs M as two of her five Special Agents of Fabulousness, we both wore our work uniforms - red Monica dresses from Pinup Girl Clothing. Over the dresses we're wearing corsets by Viola Lahger, who is Sweden's only high class corset maker. She has studied corsets through times thoroughly, and since I have tried on quite a few corsets over the years, I can tell you these are extremely well made, and very comfortable! If you want a personally made corset that will fit your body perfectly, this is the place to go!

Here's another one of Karin's beautiful corsets!

Linda of O.L.D designs and sews clothes after each customers preferences. She has worked for quite a few celebrities, but anyone can hire her to get that one of a kind piece of clothing you've always wanted. Above you see one of her vintage-inspired bikinis. Linda is also known as the "Vintage Doctor", which means she also mends and re-sew vintage clothes that might be broken or too big for you, which often is the case with old clothes...

Here is me and Mrs Murphy in the middle of the very feminine shop! I love just walking into this place. Makes me feel like home. Haha!

The event was sponsored by Jura Whisky and Tomtebageriet, so the guests were offered coffee with a bit of whiskey in it and a choice of seven different, old fashioned little cookies.

It was a very cozy evening, and I ended up buying a pair of tiki skull-earrings from O.L.D!

If you're interested in having a corset made by Viola Lahger, you can contact her here! And the contact information for Linda at O.L.D you find here!

Mrs Murphy's Woman Power Bootcamp!

As you all know, I've been working for Mrs Murphy for some time now, as her pr-assistant/event coordinator. And THIS is what we've been working on - Mrs Murphy's Woman Power Bootcamp! Mrs Murphy has three different workshops: Mrs Murphy to the Rescue...!, Mrs Murphy's Shool of High Heels, and Put on you FAB FACE honey - time to SHINE like that star you are, all with the goal of making women feel good about being women! There is so much talk about feminism these days, so now we want to focus on the feminine in feminism - something people don't talk about that much. Putting on red lipstick and a pair of high heels doesn't make you inferior to men - as long as you do it for yourself, and find your own inner woman power!

So what we have done now is we have created a weekend where you can come to Stockholm and experience all three of Mrs M's workshops!

As the event will take place in Stockholm a lot of the text on the poster is in Swedish, but that's because this time we focus on the Swedish ladies. We plan to do this in other countries later on too though...

The weekend takes place 22 - 24 May, and the participants will sleep at the beautiful Hotel Kungsträdgården that just opened in the center of Stockholm. When visiting the hotel both me and Mrs M wanted to move in. It's very elegant - with a crystal chandelier in each room! Here we will drink champagne, eat breakfast and lunch, and listen to Mrs M's wise words.

Mrs Murphy's School of High Heels will take place at another location than the hotel, but under the care of me and two other of Mrs M's Special Agents of Fabulousness we will take care that you get there and back comfortably.

For more info (in Swedish) go here! This is also where you can buy your tickets to this luxurious event! Looking forward to meeting some lovely ladies there!

Sponsors of the event are: Björn Axén, Deichmann, Makiash, Pinup Girl Clothing, Daisy Dapper, Viola Lahger, O.L.D, Nosh and Chow, and Hotel Kungsträdgården. So you don't want to miss that goodiebag! Haha!

One Year Older...

On August 16th I turned 23 - for the tenth time! It's amazing how that number never changes! Anyway... The people I live with - Fanny and Michael - said I had to have a party, and so I obliged...

I wore a vintage, black wiggle dress from the 50s, and my Gianmarco Lorenzi stilettos from Dondoca.

As usual at Swedish parties everybody gathered in the kitchen, which filled up quite fast. I was going to take lots of pictures, but since it got so crowded in there, no one could move that much, and the pictures would just have looked messy. I did manage to snap a photo of the party's guest of honor though - Molly - who of course got to sit in the best chair!

Although I had told everyone they definitely didn't have to give me presents, they all came bearing gifts! Marie Antoinette and Tifa gave me flowers and candy. Fellow burlesque dancer Ruby Luscious and her gorgeous man Albin brought me goodies from the Chocolate Factory and a white, soap-like heart from Lush that you're supposed to rub on your skin, to give it a soft, shimmering look. Great for burlesque performing! From Magdalena I got a beautiful pocket mirror she had bought in St. Petersburg, and from corset maker Karin of Viola Lahger, a lovely pearl and rhinestone set hair comb! And then we also have the gift I got from Fanny and Michael...

Fanny just got a scooter drivers license, but so far I haven't been able to go cruising with her, because I didn't have a helmet. So a helmet is what they got me! And then Michael spray painted it with the help of a piece of lace fabric. So now I have my own, custom made lace-helmet!

I love it!!! Three days later I took my first ride with Fanny, when she came and picked me up from a photo shoot. Sweet! We're planning to take a longer trip soon, so look out on the roads people!!!

Viola Lahger

Viola Lahger is the only corset maker in Sweden, and she is good at it too! After being in the business for many years now, she knows how to make a corset that both shapes your body into the perfect hourglass form and is comfortable at the same time.

Last Thursday I had been invited to Miss Lahger's (pictured above) shop in Stockholm, for an evening of bubble drinking, corset trying, glamour learning, and mingling with a whole bunch of lovely ladies...and one man...

She gave us a short lesson in corsets, and demonstrated how to tie one on the best way by lacing up Elle, who's waist shrunk to a great extent, while her boobs seemed to grow - the perks about a well fitting underbust corset!

The fabulous Mrs Murphy was there to give us a lecture in how to bring some glamour into our everyday lives - something we should all try to do now and then to feel good about ourselves. Did you for example know that scientists have proven that the perfect heel-hight in shoes is 2.8'' (7 cm)? When you walk in high heels you wiggle your hips more - whether you think about it or not - and this wiggling actually produces the feel-good substance endorphins in our bodies. It is also the best exercise for the punani muscles! F**k kegels and put on a pair of high heels instead!

Mrs Murphy's bunny slippers. Want!

Viola Lahger makes both ready-made corsets in different sizes - which can still be altered to fit the customer's body perfectly - and figure-sewn corsets made to the client's own measurements and specific ideas and needs.

She also sells beautiful accessories, perfect for both weddings and glamorous parties. Her corsets are worn by both everyday people, brides, and burlesque stars!

Who wants to get married?

Of course we all had to try on a few corsets! Here is Fanny in a black piece that fitted her body perfectly!

Except for all her own corsets, Miss Lahger also sells a few ones from other brands. Like this one for example. I love it, and I want it!...

...And look! It gave me boobs!!!

This was one of my favorites though. Very antique-looking. Feel like doing a shoot in it...

I had a lovely evening - that resulted in quite a few glasses of Freixenet. So before I left I had to go to the ladies room to powder my nose. When I entered the restroom, I was met by this vision. A perfect ending to a perfect night!

Viola Lahger's website can be found here. And of course she exists on Facebook too!

Stockholm Fashion Week

Just in time for Stockholm Fashion Week I came down with a lovely cold. But with some pain killers and nose drops I managed to drag myself out of bed to go to a few events I had been invited to. First I went to a party held to promote Swedish corset designer Viola Lahger. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the burlesque show that incorporated several of these lovely corsets. It was simply too crowded where I stood.

Photo: Tifa

I found this picture from Tifa's Instagram though, that shows some of the people I partied with: Top left: Karin Holmström Lahger - owner of, and corset maker at Viola Lahger. Bottom left: Olivia, Helena and Elsa. And to the right: Tifa herself! This day - August 16th - also happened to be my birthday, and Fanny, who was also there, brought me a whole bag of presents from where she works!

It's not too bad having a friend who is Shop Manager at Agent Provocateur...

The day after I had been invited to a VIP mingle-evening, where new designers showcased, and sold, their designs. The woman who had invited me was none other than Swedish burlesque/vintage-looking hat designer Marika Smith! It was easy to see who her guests were, since we all - of course - wore her hat creations!

Here I am, beside Marika Smith herself! Behind us you can see her...

...hat-stand! As you can see she creates both demure, vintage-looking hats for everyday wear, and more burlesque fascinators for times when you might need one of those.

Close-ups of two of her hats! Other interesting things I found during the evening was:

This lovely negligé and panties by Katarina Nyman.

A cool "stay-away-from-me-or-I-will-hurt-you" dress by Aniv von Borche.

Booze!

Nice gloves by Jnny Grettve.

Cool jewelry by Johanna N.

And the always gorgeous Miss Diamond from the extraordinary Blackbird Burlesque Cabaret! Miss Diamond isn't just a gem in the burlesque world though, she is also CEO of her own brand Mrs Murphy

She gave me a little present. Not sure exactly what it is, but it looks like a milky, transparent, balloon, and the girls told me I would learn the use of it after I'm married. So now I'm looking forward to that!

Since we're talking about fashion here, I would also like to mention that I'm now featured on the blog Be In Style, in their weekly series Best of the Web, where they recognize the most interesting style blogs! I feel very honored by this, as it is always lovely to hear people appreciate what I write about here on my little bloggywogg. So thank you to Be In Style!!!
